Cardio Band Workout - 30th October 2011
Cardio Band Workout
that anyone can do
The following cardio band workout will allow anyone who can squat, hold a push up position and run in place the ability to perform.
Typically when you think of a cardio band workout, you think of running drills. However, since resistance bands are so plyable it makes it very easy to hook them up onto your body and just start moving anyway you want. Depending upon where you attach them, you will immediately activate local muscles as well. For instance with this Crazy cardio band workout, by attaching it to my trunk, everytime I come back up into a standing position, my abdominal muscles have to engage immediately to decrease lumbar extension.
I realize this may be a little crazy but for Halloween, it fits perfect. Give it a try in your next bootcamp and see what everyone thinks.
Here are the band exercises
Assisted up downs
Prone running
Assisted up down Jacks
Rotational Mountain climbers
Stationary Fast Foot Running
The training variable for this cardio band workout can follow several options. I like to provide maximum effort so I will keep the work time low so I can keep work intensity high.
20 second on – 10 seconds off x all 5 exercises. Repeat for 5 total rounds.
Getting BETTER with BANDS
Dave
PS… Utilize linked up purple bands to perform.

Hi Dave,
Would you suggest alternating the band over the R & L shoulder each circuit or somewhere in between?
Great energy! Thank you!

Hi Dave.
To further inquire to what Mickey indicated, is there any difference if the band is maintained on one side of the shoulder as compared to alternating on both shoulders?
Real great cardio. Thanks.

One could alternate the shoulders if you are doing additional rounds–do one full round of the tabata on one shoulder, rest, then do the next round on the other shoulder. Love those tabatas!!
